Deal with that affliction

Incase you didn't know, the dictionary defined affliction as a state of pain, suffering, distress or agony.
When we see the word affliction, many are quick to associate it with one deadly ailment which probably has no scientific cure.

I was also in that school of thought until i looked up the word in my dictionary. Affliction varies from an individual to the other. The light headache that comes every evening or on a monthly basis and has defiled all medications for the past months/years as the case may be, is an affliction.

That disappointment you always face each time you  attend an interview or each time something spectacular is coming your way, is also an affliction. That stagnation, delay, setback, failure confronting your God's ordained destiny, is an affliction dear. When you are always experiencing failure at the edge of breakthrough, also, is an affliction. Some persons do not have savings i.e they can't just gather money. Each time they gather a substantial amount of money, a challenge comes and the cash is diverted and you are there thinking it's only the bedridden that are afflicted? You are joking. I can go on and on... In a nutshell, whatever negative condition that have persisted for too long, becomes an affliction.
Surprisingly, no affliction is different from the other. But the good news is, "there's an end".

How do i then handle my affliction?

The story of the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:43-43,sums it all in this order ;

*Realize that you are afflicted
*Admit that you are powerless without God *Make up your mind to deal with the challenge.
*Ignore mockers
*Focus on your goal.
*Be well positioned.

I hope this spoke to somebody? Happy new week lovelies. Thanks for staying with me.

  1. Aw. Somehow this article almost slided into my post today.

    I love the first point - Realizing that you are afflicted. Even the Bible says "many perish for lack of knowledge". So many issues in our lives would be solved (easily and quickly) if only we KNOW these afflictions. May God help us IDENTIFY these things.

    Thanks for sharing, sweet Glo. Have a great week.
