Monday Inspirational:: killing Pride And Unbrokenness

Pride and unbrokenness are defective character traits that repulse God. They need to be replaced by humility and brokenness. They create major hindrances to getting to one's destination. If pride completely disappears from your life, you will become broken.

Luke 14:11 reads FOR WHOEVER EXALTETH HIMSELF SHALL BE ABASED, AND HE THAT HUMBLETH HIMSELF SHALL BE EXALTED.

This means that, however highly you feel that you are climbing, you would eventually be brought low if you are proud.

Humility is not having an exalted opinion of yourself. As a matter of fact, it is behaving like a child, believing that you can do nothing except by the power of God. It is also submitting totally and in absolute faith to God's guidance, trusting everything He does to be the best for you. It is not making judgmental statements about anybody or thinking that way.

Our weapons of warfare, we have often been told, are not carnal, but spiritual. If you try to undertake the battle against the enemy physically, it can be interpreted as pride in your ability to overcome the enemy, and even to steal the glory of God.

A child who is learning to walk often trips and falls, he looks up and laughs, expecting to be helped. He manages to pick himself up and reposition himself well for another attempt.

The important fact here is that he takes the fall jovially. He does not resent it or blame anybody for it. He continues to make one attempt after another until he perfects his walk and starts running.

This is what humility, endurance and getting there. We must develop the mind of the child. You should not be ashamed of making mistakes whenever you fall on your way to the top. Just get up, pick lessons from your fall and continue your walk.

When you perceive yourself better than others and one who is always right, it is pride, and soon you will begin to criticize and condemn people and when this is the case, it becomes difficult to forgive anybody. The humility of Christ is legendary, let's follow His footsteps.

Thanks for reading and do have a fulfilled week.
